The Banquet Chef Opportunity at Walnut Creek Country Club
Walnut Creek Country Club established in 1988 offers a private club atmosphere with emphasis on family and unity. This is an excellent opportunity for a Banquet Chef to spearhead the party operations and to grow the outlets with emphasis on member experience.
The Banquet Chef is responsible for execution of all banquets with the help of The Executive Chef and the culinary team. The Banquet Chef will have a special skill set to build relationships with the staff and membership, creating a professional yet fun environment, menu development, recipe development, purchasing and cost controls.
Walnut Creek consists of over six hundred members who enjoy twenty-seven holes of golf, two restaurants, banquet facility, pool, tennis courts and a halfway house. During the year, the club services many private events, social activities, and Monday private golf outings.
Food & Beverage Program
WCCC is open approximately 11 months a year and used frequently by members who live locally with goal of the club as their primary dining. The Club offers two kitchens. The main kitchen services banquets, production, and The Fireside Grill. The second kitchen is self-sufficient and services The Creek Pub. The Pool has a small operating kitchen as well as offering curbside from the Pub. The halfway house offers various premade items, snacks etc. Our banquet facility can accommodate up to 250 guests or can be sectioned off for multiple groups. The Fireside Grill is a more upscale room with a scenic outdoor patio that has combined seating of up to 120 seats while The Creek Pub has seating for about 130 including patio seating. We have a robust carryout service as well as an online app to place orders. Throughout the year we do various golf related events, traditional events such as Easter and Mother's Day, wine dinners, chef dinners and brunch with Santa.

Banquet Chef Job Description
- Collaborator, hands on working with front of the house staff and management
- Active recruiter and mentor to staff
- Focus on consistencies, appearance, sanitation service at the highest level
- Engagement with the membership to ensure the experience is exceptional and accept feedback
- Remain current with trends, continual education
- Have a sense of fun, approachability, and calm demeanor
Operations
- Develop techniques to insure consistency and quality
- Safety and sanitation training
- Menu planning with the Executive Chef for special occasions and banquets
- Food cost controls in place
- Play a role in communications
Candidate Qualifications
- Preferably has worked in a country club setting
- Experience with banquet execution of up to 250 people
- Serve Safe certified
- Exceptional cooking skills with ability for creativity
- Ability to multitask
- Team builder and communicator with members and staff
Salary & Benefits
Salary is open in range of $40,000-$48,000. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
